Insights from Inovalon’s Customer Congress and Becker’s Healthcare 7th Annual Meeting

Last week, members of Invicta’s leadership team from around the country converged in Washington, D.C. for Inovalon’s Customer Congress and again in Chicago, Illinois for Becker’s Healthcare 7th Health IT + Digital Health + RCM Annual Meeting. We asked Derek Shaw, Invicta’s President, to outline key takeaways from both events.

Inovalon’s Customer Congress – Washington, D.C.

There were many enlightening presentations and panel discussions throughout the conference. Of note, Ryan Davidsen, Inovalon’s SVP of Customer Success & Delivery, highlighted CX Day 2022, which took place on the concluding day of Customer Congress, in a recent blog post. CX Day was created by the Customer Experience Professionals Association as a day to truly celebrate that our customers are at the heart of our work. Like Inovalon, Invicta will continue to drive customer experience across our organization.

It was my pleasure to serve on a panel once again for Customer Congress. This year, Kem Tolliver served as our moderator, and I was joined on the panel by Inovalon’s Patrick Warren, and Phelps Memorial’s Rachell Dallman. In Out of the Abyss: Avoiding Black Holes in Your Revenue Cycle Follow-up, we touched on many themes including: best practice onboarding with new clients; working with multiple vendors and choosing the right partners; what we mean by “Cash is Queen”; how harnessed data creates empowered providers; how patient access automation tools improve cash flow; effective management of analytics and data science; RPA and AI development tools that separate winners from runners up; what we mean at Invicta by “Technology Intellect”; how heavily we weight adoption of continuous improvement and problem-solving against success and goals; training focus beyond technical; the power of gamification in delivering real time feedback and competitive self-analysis at all levels; cultures of accountability, and more. Becker’s 7th Health IT + Digital Health + RCM Annual Meeting – Chicago, IL

With headline keynote speakers such as former President of the United States George W. Bush, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, and golf phenom Michelle Wie, Becker’s knocked it out of the park. After several years as a virtual conference, record numbers of healthcare, IT, revenue cycle, and customer engagement executives were in attendance at Chicago’s Navy Pier. There were 8 session tracks with keynotes and breakouts over the course of four days. Sessions I found most satisfying included: AI to Boost the Healthcare Workforce; Big Focus for Cybersecurity Teams in 2023 and Beyond; Health IT in Rural and Community Hospitals: Impacts on the Revenue Cycle; KPIs to Measure Revenue Cycle in the Next 5 Years; and Creating a System for Driving Effective Innovation – to name a few.

Towards the end of the conference week, Invicta co-hosted a private event with client and Becker’s sponsor, PwC, in Chicago’s House of Blues Foundation Room. Clients and collaborators enjoyed craft cocktails and mixology, custom cuisine, and live entertainment in the luxurious members-only Foundation Room. Many thanks to both Inovalon and Becker’s Healthcare national leadership on creating well-executed events for those of us at the forefront of healthcare revenue cycle management!
